<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for treating excretion and/or septic tank sludge, capable of oxidizing and decomposing excretion and/or septic tank sludge in a high decomposition ratio by hydrothermal reaction using reduced energy to detoxify the same without highly concentrating the same, capable of also treating sewage sludge and/or garbage and enabling the reutilization of treated water. SOLUTION: A first substance 10 to be treated comprising excretion and/or septic tank sludge is evaporated and concentrated in a concentrator 2 and condensed water 31 is treated in a membrane separator 4 and an adsorbing tank 5 to obtain treated water 39 and the concentrate 30 is introduced into a mixing tank 7 to be mixed with a second substance 6 to be treated comprising sewage sludge and/or garbage, and the mixed sludge is introduced into a hydrothermal reaction apparatus 8 along with an oxidizing agent 55 to be subjected to hydrothermal reaction in a supercritical or sub-critical state to oxidize and decompose organic matter.</p> |
