PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency notifying device that is arranged not to respond to a telephone call from a third party which is other than a security center each if it is an emergency. SOLUTION: The emergency notifying device, which can inform the security center of a state of emergency, is provided with a signal transmitting means 32 which transmits an emergency signal to the center via a communication network, a speaking means 33 which speaks to the center via the network, and a time counting means 36 which is activated, when the emergency signal is transmitted and counts time for a prescribed period of time. The informing device is also provided with an incoming means, which responds to an incoming call upon detecting the incoming call from the network, while the counting means 36 counts time and a control means 31 which actuates the speaking means 33 upon receiving a preregistered identification number, after the incoming means responds to the incoming call. The speaking means 33 is constituted to conduct speaking in a hand-free state, after receiving the identification number.
