PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling a character in a system connecting to a network are provided to increase the efficiency of a work by comparing specific signals included in a protocol, by updating a character according to a fixed communication between a server and a client program in case that the character is provided to the server without the need for reinstalling a software in a user computer. CONSTITUTION: A service system(20) is connected to a server of a company which requests an advertisement. A character(1) moves according to information stored in a user system(10) connected to a network. A data storing unit(2) stores movement contents of the character(1). A update data storing unit(21) provides new data to the storing unit(2). A control unit(50) compares the data of the storing unit and the update data storing unit(2). In case that new data are stored, the control unit substitutes updated data for the data stored in the storing unit(2).
