PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive brush electrifier which removes toner, remaining attached to a conductive brush contacting a photoreceptor drum, by a simple structure efficiently and therefore prevents degradation in the electrifying characteristic of the photoreceptor drum. SOLUTION: The conductive brush electrifier 1 electrifies the photoreceptor drum 10 by bringing the conductive brush 30 into contact with the photoreceptor drum 10 while rotating the brush 30 with a predetermined voltage applied thereto, thereby applying charges to the surface of the drum 10. The conductive brush electrifier 1 is provided with a toner removal member 32 which is held in an electrically insulated manner and is in planar contact with the brush 30. The toner removal member 32 is made of a conductive material, such as a conductive foam body or a metal plate.
