The method involves operating at least one voltage-carrying cable system during the entire replacement of the pylon head (2). Before changing the pylon head at least a first cable system (5) is disconnected, fully suspended and mounted on the pylon (1) at a prescribed distance below the separation point (10) so as to enable full operation of the cable system, then the cable system is supplied with voltage again. The method involves operating at least one voltage-carrying cable system during the entire replacement of the pylon head (2). This is repeated for other cable systems (6), the pylon head is changed, the disconnected cable system is reattached to the pylon, set into operation and the voltage carrying cable system is suspended on the pylon head after switching off the voltage and then set into operation again.
