PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green tea beverage in a sealed container based on a low temperature extract of green tea, having the scent of tea just served and balanced in flavor and taste. SOLUTION: This method for producing a green tea beverage in a sealed container is to extract tea leaves (green tea) with a low temperature water-based medium such as 45-70 deg.C ion exchange water to obtain a green tea extract and blend an extract essence itself prepared by extracting raw tea leaves with warm water or a concentrated and/or dried raw leaf extract essence with the aforesaid green tea extract. The amount of the raw leaf extract to be blended is preferably 0.001-0.1 wt.% as the essence (on dry base) per the green tea beverage product.
