PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an insulation gap of an in-series gap from changing even if the stretching state of a power line changes. SOLUTION: In a lightning arrester for power lines in which the power line 4 is hung by a steel tower through a suspension insulator 11, and a discharge electrode 2A forming an in-series gap in a connection part 20 of the suspension insulator 11 and the power line 4, it is attached so that the discharge electrode 2A may not carry out a rotating movement to the suspension insulator 11.
