<p>PURPOSE: Provided are a method and an apparatus for dry quenching coke causing no clinker deposit in ventilating a prechamber to improve safety by burning of combustible gas and coke breeze and in improving waste heat recovery and to provide fire extinguishing devices. CONSTITUTION: The method for dry quenching coke comprises: possessing a quenching tower(1) comprising a cooling chamber(2) and a prechamber(3) set at its upper part; introducing red-hot coke(9) from upper side, heat-exchanging sensible heat of the red-hot coke with a medium of an inert gas in the cooling chamber and heat-recovering as steam, and is characterized by blowing an air(24) and water or steam(26) at the same time, wherein the blowing amounts of them are adjusted to keep a temperature in the prechamber(2) to be <= 1150 deg.C.</p> |
