PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating paper pulp, by which an effective bleaching degree can be achieved in a practical short time on the enzymatic bleaching treatment of non-bleached pulp. SOLUTION: This method for treating paper pulp, characterized by applying at least one treatment among (1) the thermal hydrolysis treatment of hemicellulose, (2) the fiber pore-expanding treatment of cellulose, and (3) the organic solvent-swelling treatment of lignin, before non-bleated pulp is subjected to an enzymatic bleaching process.
