<p>containing norbornadiene as stabiliser. Cpd. contains 1-10 wt.% stabiliser. Costabilisers such as epoxides, ketones, internal ethers, alchols, nitroalkanes, nitriles and isothiocyanates may be present. Specif. cpds. are 1,2-epoxbutane, methylethyl ketone 1,4-dioxan, tertiary butyl alcohol, tertiary amyl alcohol, nitromethane, acetonitrile, methyl isothiocyanate. The total quantity of stabilisers used is esp. 1-6 wt.% of the trichloroethane. The stabilisation is tested by immersing a Co-Mg-Al alloy in the stabilised trichloroethane and noting the discolouration after 1 hour and the hydrogen chloride liberated.</p> |
