PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unwashed part from being generated by bouncing of a washing brush caused by repulsion produced between the washing brush and a body when the rotating washing brush is brought into contact with the body. SOLUTION: This car washer is equipped with a washing brush rotatably provided to do brushing while coming into contact with an automobile body, a means of controlling a movement to move the washing brush so as to work on a body, a motor to rotate the washing brush, a means of controlling a revolution speed to variably control the revolution speed of the motor, and a means of control to control the revolution speed of the motor to a lower speed than one used for normal car washing and to increase it to the revolution speed used for normal car washing after the washing brush is brought into contact with the body, when moving the washing brush from a position away from the body to a position where it is brought into contact with the body.
