<p>A photographic material for diffusion transfer process comprises a transparent support carrying an image receiving layer, an opaque, light reflecting layer permeable to alkaline solutions and one or more direct positive Ag halide emulsion layer(s) associated with a dye forming material. After exposure a liquid developer is discharged by pressure members from a rupturable capsule inside the camera to form a dye at the unexposed points with the dye forming material distributed as a function of the exposure. This dye diffuses through the opaque layer and forms a positive image on the image receiving sheet next to the transparent support layer. At the exposed parts the dye forming material does not react with the developer and is not diffusible. Accordingly the image receiving sheet does not have to be detached from the negative layer as in prior art and the positive image is protected after removal from the camera by the transparent support. Timing of the development is also eliminated.</p> |
