A reader/recorder for reading and writing data from/to a storage device (10) having multiple storage areas. The multiple storage areas include at least two of an optical medium storage area (14), a contact-type integrated circuit (IC) (18), a contactless-type IC (20), a magnetic strip (22), and a bar code (24). The reader/recorder further enables the storage device to be turned over so as to read optical information stored on a plurality of sides thereof (Figs 1A and 1B). |
