DESULFURIZER FOR MOLTEN PIG IRON

PURPOSE: A desulfurizer for molten pig iron is provided to increase a desulfurization efficiency by mixing sodium chloride or calcium hydroxide with converter slag. CONSTITUTION: The desulfurizer for molten pig iron comprises 85 to 90 wt.% of converter slag, and 10 to 15 wt.% of one or both of sodium chloride and calcium hydroxide. The sodium chloride and calcium hydroxide are mixed in a ratio of 1 : 0.5 to 1.2. Converter slag can be effectively used, and valuable metals such as Fe, Mn, etc. in the slag are recovered using the desulfurizer for molten pig iron. The desulfurizer for molten pig iron has a higher efficiency compared with addition effect of existing calcium oxide, and manufacture a cheaper desulfurizer.
