The present invention is directed to a 3D ultrasound-guided intraoperati ve brachytherapy method for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in men. The method comprises the steps of a pre-implant planning phase using 3D TRUS and semi-automated contouring, an implantation phase and a post plan verificatio n phase for monitoring.
