摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the runaway of a battery pack by detecting a temperature and a remaining capacity when an ignition switch is off, and controlling a battery to discharge when the detected temperature is higher than a set temperature, and the remaining capacity of the battery is higher than that having the possibility of thermal runaway. SOLUTION: A control circuit 2 detects a temperature and a remaining capacity at a fixed time interval when an ignition switch is turned off. A set temperature is preferably determined within a range of 90-100 deg.C as an optimum value. A capacity having the possibility of thermal runaway of a battery is preferably set within a range of 40-60% of a standard capavity of the battery, but can be optionally varied corresponding to the set temperature without fixed. When the possibility of thermal runaway exists, a fan controller 5 is controlled to rotate a fan 4 for cooling the battery and simultaneously allowing the battery to discharge. The discharging can be also executed by supplying the power to an external power storing device 8 connected to the battery. This controlling method of a battery pack can be effectively applied to a hybrid car.</p>
