PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately forecast lives of consumable parts and periodical replacement parts by calculating a print density from integrating the number of dots of print data actually printed, and managing the number of dots for each column. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic printer with a print density managing function integrates the number of dots of a printed image for one page developed in a dot image buffer 9 and calculates a print density by calculating the number of dots occupying one page. Moreover, the print image 35 developed in the dot image buffer 9 is image in the number of dots by each arbitrary size in the printing direction, and a print trouble in the print localized to a specific part on one page 1 can be recognized beforehand. Therefore, it is possible to manage a print density changing by each device and each user with high accuracy. Further, it is also possible to utilize each calculated data as predictive maintenance and preventive maintenance by recording the data in memory. |
