PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a consumption state detector for a dry battery, capable of allowing a user to easily judge the lifetime, and a dry battery provided with the detector. SOLUTION: A dry battery 40 having an exhausted state detecting function is configured, such that a detecting portion for detecting the exhausted state of energy of a battery when a user depresses a push button 48, for thus displaying the state on a display 47 is formed into a detector unit 41, which is then disposed in a battery body 42, integrally with, for example a positive electrode terminal 43, and thereafter, the entirety is covered with a metal jacket 44.
