PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade reduction of an identification mark to be printed by every communication even when an image is reduced and to facilitate a work to sort sheets of recording paper by adding the identification mark to sort the sheet of recording paper by every communication to the first page of the received image to which a reduction processing is performed. SOLUTION: Data which are received by FAX via a public service telephone network are stored and transmitted to a page memory 102 by every page by a reception buffer 101. The received data for one page are developed and outputted to a recording control IC 103 for recording by the page memory 102. The recording control IC 103 is provided with a function to reduce the data from the page memory 102, reduces the received data to the proper size when they are too large and adds the identification mark to the image of the first page like hardware. The identification mark can be added to any place of the recording paper by the recording control IC 103.
