PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing type reel capable of quickly and surely carrying out the change operation of a click mechanism without shifting the reel from one hand to the other, having a spool click mechanism causing neither a hand ache resulting from the contact of the mechanism with a hand gripping the reel during fishing nor wrong operation. SOLUTION: In this double bearing type reel equipped with a spool 2 rotatably supported through a spool shaft 21 on a reel machine body, a spool click mechanism for informing an angler of the rotation state of the spool and a change mechanism for changing the operation/nonoperation of the click mechanism, a change operation part 62A of the change mechanism is disposed at a position closer to a fishing rod tip side than the spool shaft 21 in the outer periphery of a side plate 1A at a handle 3 side of the reel body and at the upper side of the opposite side of a reel attaching leg part.
