PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging controller, capable of curtailing maximum power component of charging and shortening charging time, and capable of reducing losses generated by a current detecting resistor. SOLUTION: The output power of a DC power source 1 or a secondary battery 4 is given to a direct current-to-direct current converter 6. and converted into a voltage necessary for an apparatus load 7. Along with detecting a current flowing in an apparatus by the use of a detector 26 for a current being consumed by the apparatus, a current flowing in a charging control circuit 2 is detected by a detector 29 for input current of the charging control circuit, and given to an arithmetic circuit 11. The arithmetic circuit 11 finds the sum of these detected currents, and the control circuit 2 controls a charging current to the secondary battery 4 on the basis of the computation result of the arithmetic circuit 11.
