PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply use this plate-like cushioning material as a cushioning material for housing a tubular container in a case body by a method wherein a plurality of tongue pieces for holding the tubular container are continuously connected to a single sheet of plate-like material and the distance between the edge at the opposite side and the base of the tongue pieces of the plate-like cushioning material is set in accordance with the length of a space with a surplus height of the tubular container. SOLUTION: A plate-like cushioning material 1a is formed by providing three tongue pieces 2a-2c in continuity at a single sheet of plate-like material. The tongue pieces 2a-2c hold alternately the opposite side faces of a tubular container 10 at its sealed part 11, and the plate-like cushioning material 1A is held to the tubular container 10. The distance L1 between the edge 3 at the opposite side and the base 4 of the tongue pieces 2a-2c of the plate-like cushioning material 1A is set in accordance with the length L11 of a surplus space in the longitudinal direction of the tubular container 10 housed in a case body 30. The width L4 of the plate-like cushioning material 1A is set in accordance with the length L12 of a surplus space in the direction of the sealed part 11 of the tubular container 10. Therefore, the tubular container 10 can be housed, being fixed without rattling, in the case body 30 by virtue of the plate-like cushioning material 1A.
