PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for a microwave oven, whose assembling property can be improved through securing wider assembling space of other components by contracting the length of a door latch. SOLUTION: A safety device for a microwave oven is provided with a door key 137, mounted movably on the door of a microwave oven and provided with key switch units 137a, 137b projected toward the fore part of a cabinet for the microwave oven, and a plurality of switches 141, 142, 143, put ON/OFF by the entering and going-out of the key switch units 137a, 137b to connect the power supply unit of the microwave oven to an operating circuit selectively. In such a safety device for the microwave oven, the switch 143, arranged at the innermost side of an instrument chamber among a plurality of switches, can be operated directly by the key switch unit 137b.
