PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce bending stress generated in a valve bridge for opening/ closing an exhaust valve, in a valve bridge type valve system having two or more exhaust valves different in the passage length of an exhaust port to the exhaust port outlet of a cylinder head, to one cylinder of an engine. SOLUTION: In this valve system, distance La and Lb, between the shaft centers Ca and Cb of exhaust valves 4a and 4b and the shaft center Cg of the valve guide 6g of a valve bridge 6, are formed so that the side Lb having the short passage length Kb of an exhaust port 3b can be shorter than the side La having the long passage length Ka of an exhaust port 3a. Moreover the set loads Fa and Fb of the valve springs 5a and 5b of the valves 4a and 4b are constituted by setting the side Lb having the short passage length Kb of the port 3b stronger than the side La having the long passage length Ka of the port 3a.
