PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP that can prevent the malfunction of a peripheral apparatus by blocking a near infrared-ray, has high luminance, is thin in thickness and light in weight and has good visibility. SOLUTION: Phosphor layers 22B, 22R, 22G each made of a near infrared- visible conversion phosphor are separately formed in the form of a single layer in the parts corresponding to display cells 21B, 21R, 21G between a dielectric layer 16 inside a front glass substrate 12 and a protective layer 17 made of MgO. Phosphor layers 19B, 19R, 19G each made of an ultraviolet-visible conversion phosphor are formed on a dielectric layer 20 formed on an address electrode 15 on a back glass substrate 14 and on the side surfaces of barrier ribs 18. |
