PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable recorder in which the interval between a sensor section on a carriage for detecting the positional information of the carriage and a part to be detected can be set accurately. SOLUTION: A guide shaft 403 and a guide rail 404 guide a carriage 402, in the scanning direction thereof, such that a constant interval can be kept between the nozzle part of a recording head 401 mounted on the carriage 402 and a recording medium. An encoder scale 407 is provided fixedly while touching the sliding face 404c on the carriage 402. The guide rail 404 and a sliding part 411 are provided above the guide shaft 403 of the carriage 402 and an encoder sensor 408 is provided at the sliding part 411. |
