DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING JUMPING OF HOT STRIP WINDING WRAPPER ROLL

PURPOSE: A control device of jumping of a hot strip winding wrapper roll is provided to improve productivity and to make maintenance simple by preventing occurrence of a mark in the position of a wrapper roll contacting to a strip head part. CONSTITUTION: An average speed of a strip is calculated by averaging detected speed of a roller speed detector and detected speed of a bottom pinch roll speed detector if a detected gap is larger than a reference gap by deciding if a pinch roll gap detected in the pinch roll detector is larger than a reference gap. On the basis of the strip speed and the distance from a strip detector to respective wrapper roll, the time to approach to the wrapper rolls for the strip is obtained. The time for jumping from the step 1 to the step 4 is obtained. On the basis of the approach time obtained in the corresponding steps, pumping and closing of the corresponding wrapper roll are controlled to perform an automatic step control when the strip approaches to the wrapper rolls. When the strip is wound on a mandrel, tension of the mandrel is compared to a reference tension. If the tension of the mandrel is weaker than the reference tension, a following automatic step control is performed. If the tension of the mandrel is stronger than the reference tension, the wrapper rolls are controlled to be opened. Thereafter, the automatic step control is finished.
