The clamping segments(21) on the support component of a clamping ring are connected to the support component by at least one abutment shoulder(25) extending radially over the outer circumference of the clamping segment and which extends over the whole of the clamping segment's length. The clamping segment in the longitudinal direction of the muff(3) has a cross section in the shape of a L, T or U. The support component may consist of a rubber elastic material, and in the region of each clamping segment provided with a slot formed by two abutment shoulders of the U-form clamping segment.
