SEALING STRUCTURE FOR OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE PACKAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the outside air from flowing into the inside of an optical waveguide pakage to provide a small package used for a long period even under a circumstance of a high temperature and high humidity. SOLUTION: This optical waveguide package 10 contains at least a plane optical waveguide component 2, a temperature sensor 5 for detecting a temperature of the waveguide component 2, and a temperature control element 6 for controlling the temperature of the waveguide component 2 inside a package comprising a bottom plate 11, a side wall and a cover 13. A ventilation part in the side wall of the package 10 is sealed with a sealant, oil and a sealant in this order in this sealing structure.
