PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the projecting or the recessed three-dimensional engraving of a three-dimensional matter such as a coin in a short time through a simple operation by converting data on a three-dimensional shape obtained by a three-dimensional instrument from an object to be photographed such as a man positioned in front of a casing, to data dedicated for an automatic three-dimensional engraving machine. SOLUTION: First money is deposited into the automatic three-dimensional engraving device 22 by a man sitting on a chair 5 and a three-dimensional instrument actuating switch 19 is switched ON. Then three-dimensional shape data on the upper half region of a body of the man sitting on the chair 5 as an object to be photographed is displayed on a monitor 8 after the measurement of the object in the non-contact mode by a laser three-dimensional instrument 6 using a laser beam which is housed in an upper casing 4. When the man is satisfied with an image displayed on the monitor 8, he depresses an OK switch 21 to convert the three-dimensional shape data to data dedicated for the automatic three-dimensional engraving machine with the help of a data conversion soft ware 10. Finally a manipulator 11 is actuated to pick up a three-dimensional matter to be engraved such as a coin from a three-dimensional engraved matter supply mechanism 13 and supplies the three-dimensional matter to be engraved to the automatic three-dimensional engraving machine 9.
