The interspace between nozzle and upper mold cavity opening (16) is shut off from the surroundings. Air is introduced into the interspace, flowing along the cavity (14). The hot flexible hose (4), i.e. the preform, is extruded from the nozzle until its free end reaches the lower mold opening (15). Following extrusion, this opening (15) is shut off and the hose is cut off above the upper opening (16). An Independent claim is included for the corresponding equipment.
