摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using a ferroelectric substance which permits the execution of electrostatic charge, image exposure and development in a bright room, permits the coloration of images, permits the electrostatic charge, image exposure, occasional writing of the images and erasure and permits the formation of plural sheets of the same toner images by one time of image writing, has high mechanical strength, substantially prevents the flawing of the surface by toner development, etc., without limitation by systems of the toner development and is suitable for printing of multiple sheets. SOLUTION: This image forming method consists of (a) a first stage of aligning the dipoles of the ferroelectric substance in the ferroelectric layer of a ferroelectric element having the ferroelectric layer contg. SrBi2Nb2O9 sintered at a sintering temp. in solid phase reaction in a range of 900 to 1030 deg.C to one direction on a conductive base, (2) a second stage for inverting the dipoles of the portions corresponding to the image parts or non-image parts, (3) a third stage for once heating the ferroelectric layer uniformly to a temp. below a Curie point, then cooling the layer to develop the electrostatic latent image and (4) a fourth stage for developing the electrostatic latent image by using toners.
