PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit a vocabulary that becomes a recognition object and to improve recognition performance by comparing a calling telephone number with a telephone number of a correspondence table and notifying a recognizing part of a dictionary corresponding to the calling telephone number. SOLUTION: A calling telephone number transmitting and receiving part 6 notifies this telephone voice recognizing device 1 of the calling telephone number of the other party which is received through a switching network. A dictionary part 4 of the device 1 is provided with a dictionary group which consists of vocabularies that register recognition object vocabularies. A recognizing part 2 performs pattern matching of input voice of a recognition object which is inputted through the switching network with a standard pattern and outputs a result that is decided as the closest one as a recognition result as a result of comparing a vocabulary obtained from the result with a recognition object vocabulary registered on the dictionaries. A correspondence table 5 registers the correspondence of plural telephone numbers to the dictionaries. A dictionary switching part 3 compares a calling telephone number with a telephone number of the table 5 and notifies the part 2 of a dictionary corresponding to the calling telephone number.
