The present invention relates to a guiding roller for web material which is mainly intended for paper machines. This guiding roller comprises two outer tubular sections (2; 2') as well as an optional tubular section (1) mounted in between, wherein said tubular sections (1, 2; 2') are supported on a central axis (3) by ball bearings (5; 6, 7). The tubular sections (2; 2') are further capable of radial displacement relative to said axis (3). The adjacent ends (1a; 2a) of adjacent tubular sections (1; 2) are mutually tightened and directly connected together to avoid any rotation. The ball bearings (5) are located below the tightening area (1a; 2a), while the outer tubular sections (2; 2') are formed so as to be longitudinally resilient.
