The scoreboard consists of a light-coloured rigid supporting panel (1) for each numeral of the score, having a stylised figure eight (5) depicted on it in a dark colour, e.g. painted or of adhesive strip material. The supporting panel has a series of horizontal guide rails (3) for sliding shutters (4) with grooved edges. The shutters are of a light coloured material and moved along the rails to cover parts of the figure (8) and make it into another numeral between 0 and 9. The scoreboard components are made from rigid materials such as metal or plastic.
