PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential limiting device capable of being smoothly operated, or of differentiating differential limiting force generated between at the time of driving and coasting. SOLUTION: In this differential limiting device, the rotational force of a differential case 1 is transmitted to side gears 3 and 4 disposed over the rotating shaft of the differential case 1 while torque is being distributed by way of paired pinion gears 2 housed in the differential case 1, pinion movably supporting cam members 5 and 6 having a pinion movably supporting recessed part 10 housing the proper quantities of the respective pinion gears 2, are disposed to the inside of the differential case 1 in such a way as to be freely slid only in one direction, and differential limiting force can be given to the tooth surfaces of the side gears 3 and 4 even by thrusting force caused by driving force in the circumferential direction, which is given to the respective pinion gears 2 by the pinion movably supporting cam members 5 and 6. And a number of grooves R are engraved at least in one surface out of the tooth crests of the pinion gears 2 and the side gears 3 and 4, the pinion movably supporting recessed part 10, and the back faces of the pinion movably supporting cam members 5 and 6.
