Fibrous composite material and elastomer-based fastening made from it

The two laminate layers (3, 4) of the composite include an intermediate layer of two fabrics (2a, 2b), one for each laminate layer. Between the fabrics, and bonded with them, is an elastomer (6). Fibers (5) leave the fabrics, reaching out into the elastomer. Independent claims are included for the corresponding fastener and for the method of manufacture. Preferred features: The fibers stand up at right angles from the fabrics, alternating with those of the opposite layer, at regular intervals. At least two fibers emerge from each node in the fabric. Concerning the fastener: the laminate layers have openings, to hold fastening rivets or screws; the openings are mutually-offset. Side tabs or flaps are included. Additional laminar reinforcement is included. Numbers of intermediate layers may be included.
