PURPOSE:To prevent a laser device from deteriorating in breakdown strength and to obtain the solid-state laser device safe for an operator by a method wherein a charging capacitor is discharged through a self-discharge circuit if a discharge starting switch is not turned ON within a prescribed time after the charging capacitor is charged. CONSTITUTION:When a charge starting switch 8 is turned ON, an OR circuit 10 outputs a signal to a direct current high voltage power source 1 to turn it ON, and then a capacitor 14 is charged. When the charged voltage of the capacitor 14 becomes higher than a full-charged reference voltage, a first comparator 26 outputs a start signal S to a timer 30 to make it start timing and an OFF signal to the high voltage power source 1 to stop charging the capacitor 14. When a discharge start switch 40 is not turned ON within the timing time T of the timer 30, a discharge control circuit 24 is inputted after the timing of the timer 30 is finished, a relay 22 is turned ON by the output of an NOR circuit 36, and charges stored in the capacitor 14 is consumed through a resistor 20 of a self-discharge circuit 16. |
