METHOD FOR SEPARATING CELLS

A method for efficiently separating desired cells from other cells with the use of the cell specificity of a relatively less expensive lectin and the specific interaction between the lectin and an antibody. A lectin (3) capable of binding specifically to a specific cell (1) is bonded to the specific cell to form a lectin/cell complex. An antibody (4) having a specific interaction with the above lectin is immobilized on a separating agent (5) to give a separating agent carrying the antibody immobilized thereon. Next, the resultant separating agent is brought into contact with a solution of the above lectin-cell complex so that the lectin is bonded to the antibody due to the specific interaction thereof, thus separating the lectin/cell complex.
