The portable windscreen wiper comprises a casing (1) to which a wiper arm (5) is fitted. The wiper arm is connected to a transmission (4). The casing contains a battery (3) to power the motor (2). The motor can also be connected to other power supplies. There is a fixing device (6) in the form of magnetic or other clamps, to fix the wiper firmly to the windscreen, and has a further device (7) to prevent the wiper unit being washed away.
