The antenna is provided by geometrically defined conductive layers in the form of a pair of conductive discs or foils at a given relative spacing. One of the layers has a circular periphery, and the other has a contour defined by a circular sector with a straight edge (3). The circular edge of the sector shaped disc or foil (2) is coupled to the aligned circular edge of the other disc or foil, via a number of spaced connection elements (4), providing discrete connection points. The inner conductor of a coaxial waveguide is coupled to the sector shaped disc or foil, with its outer conductor coupled to the circular disc or foil.
