Method of closing opening traversed by several cables

The closing of an opening (1) traversed by cables commences with grouping of the cables into a number of superposed layers (3a-3d), then closing the opening with a plate (10) that has been pre-cut to fit over the cables. Cables of the same diameter are grouped to form each layer. A filling material (6) is then injected to close the spaces between the cables, and between the cables and the cut-outs in the closing plate. A polyurethane mousse is the preferred filling material. A supplementary plate (4b) may be placed between adjacent layers. An internal plate (9) may form an inner boundary for the closure.
