SIZING AGENT, ANTIMICROBIALLY PROCESSED FIBER ARTICLE USING THE SAME AND PROCESS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sizing agent that can impart antimicrobial and deodorant properties to fiber products without any special antimicrobial treatment by admixing microcapsules including antimicrobial agent such as white-cedar essence oil to the finishing oil. SOLUTION: This sizing agent contains microcapsules including an antimicrobial agent such as white cedar essential oil or at least one antimicrobial component in' the oil. In a preferred embodiment, this sizing oil is applied to fiber products to produce antimicrobial articles. The size of the microcapsule is preferably in the range from 0.5 to 20μm.
