A refuse (2) conveying arrangement (6) has a chamber (8) which encloses at least two screw conveyors (10) for the refuse which enclose an acute angle between them at the discharge end, so that a chamber (35) is formed between them which is broadest at the feed end.Also claimed is a method for conveying refuse using two conveyors placed at an angle to one another so that a chamber is formed between them which is broadest at the feed end. Further claimed is the use of the feeding arrangement to deliver refuse to the pyrolysis chamber of a pyrolytic incinerator.
