PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the burden on a dictionary registerer, to shorten the retrieval time at the time of dictionary registration and to decrease the storage capacity of dictionary data. SOLUTION: A data storage table 40 has slots for every part of speech. A preprocessing part 21 divides an input sentence into words and give part-of- speech information to each word, and classifies the words by every part of speech and stores them in respective slots of a data storage table 40. A sorting process part 22 sorts the words by the slots of the data storage table 40, merges identical words in the same slot as a word which can be made common when such words are present, and stores the result in a dictionary file 32. |
