PURPOSE:To obtain an impact modifier which can impart impact and weathering resistance to a thermoplastic resin by polymerizing an alkyl (meth)acrylate with an aromatic vinyl compound and a cyanide in the presence of a specified grafted rubber polymer. CONSTITUTION:A mixture (a) is obtained by mixing 0.1-20wt.% polyfunctional monomer with 50-99.9wt.% alkyl (1-13C) acrylate and 0-30wt.% another copolymerizable vinyl compound. 99-20 pts.wt. component (a) is emulsion- polymerized in the presence of 1-80 pts.wt. conjugated diene rubber (b) to a convertion of 50-93% to obtain 100 pts.wt. grafted rubber polymer (A) containing unreacted polymerizable monomer. Below 40 pts.wt. mixture (B) comprising 0-100wt.% alkyl acrylate, 0-100wt.% aromatic vinyl compound, 0-100wt.% alkyl methacrylate and 0-40wt.% cyanide is polymerized in the presence of 60 to below 100 pts.wt. component A to obtain 100 pts.wt. impact modifier comprising a grafted copolymer. |
