PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release a user of an apparatus from complicated operation in low running cost and to certainly perform recording with high reliability. SOLUTION: A threshold value for detecting the residual amt. of ink according to a set recording mode (normal mode, economy mode) and an ink color component (black, yellow, magenta, cyan) is read from an ROM and, after the recording operation corresponding to one recording paper is completed, ink is trially emitted at every color component to compare the threshold value (Nb, Ny, Nm, Nc, Eb, Ey, Em, Ec) according to the recording mode and an ink color and the emitting result of ink to judge whether ink remains at every color ink. |
