The invention is characterized in that a slider (1) for guiding a movable body such as a table along a track rail (2) comprises a thin plate-shaped ball rolling plate (6) provided with a load ball groove (61), in which a ball (5) rolls, and a thin plate-shaped mounting plate (7), to which the movable body is fixed, and these ball rolling plate (6) and mounting plate (7) are insert-molded from a molding material (8) such as resin or diecast metal. On the other hand, the track rail (2) is formed of a metal material (21) provided with a characteristic of being improved in surface hardness by the plastic working, and the ball rolling groove (23) is worked on to have a predetermined surface hardness during the plastic working.
