The border line detecting apparatus and method is comprised of a video signal(f(x,y,t)) comprising a time component is transmitted to a display value detector(20) of a border detecting apparatus and a change quantity detector(23); the display value detector(20) detects a slope of a three dimensional video signal through a slope calculating part(21) and outputs the same; the slope value provided from the slope calculating part(21) is transmitted to a absolute value processing part(22); the absolute value processing part(22) performs absolute value process on the applied slope value and outputting the same; the value provided from the absolute value processing part(22) is the display value of the video signal presently applied, the output display value is transmitted to a border line decision part(25). |
