摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a battery excellent in thermal stability and having a high capacity at a low cost by dipping a negative electrode made of a carbon material storing a specific quantity of lithium ions in an organic electrolyte at the ordinary temperature or above, and leaving it as it is. SOLUTION: A negative electrode made of a carbon material storing lithium ions of 15% or above of the theoretical capacity is dipped in an organic elecrolyte at the ordinary temperature or above, and it is left as it is. A film serving as a barrier sufficient for preventing the diffusion of lithium ions into the electrolyte is formed on the surface of the negative electrode carbon material storing lithium ions, and lithium ions are not reacted to the electrolyte even at a high temperature. This battery is excellent in thermal stability, and it can be designed to have a high capacity.
